Primary care is your first step to feeling better and staying well. It is where you go for checkups, preventive care and help when something does not feel right.
Our University Health primary care doctors take time to learn about your health needs and help you stay on track with your care. Whether you need preventive care, treatment for an illness or help with a long-term condition, our adult and pediatric primary care teams are here for you and your family at every stage of life.
Why University Health
At University Health, primary care is built to make your health easier to manage. Through University Medicine Associates, one of the largest provider groups in South Texas, you can find physicians and providers across San Antonio and nearby communities. This gives you easier access to care close to home.
Your primary care team will get to know more than your symptoms. They learn about your health history, lifestyle and goals. They can help you stay on top of preventive care, routine physicals, short-term illnesses, long-term conditions and specialty care when needed.
Because your care is connected through University Health, your doctors and providers can share information and plan your treatment. This helps keep your care moving so you can spend less time managing visits and more time focusing on your health.
