Planning for a Hospital Stay
If you need to stay overnight at the hospital, we will make your stay as comfortable as possible. We’ll walk you through every step of the way, starting with admission.
Arriving at the Hospital
When you arrive at University Hospital, you’ll go directly to the Information Desk, located on the first floor of the main lobby. The ambassador at the desk will direct you to the department where you’ll meet an admissions specialist, who will help you understand what to expect during your stay with us.
What to Bring
We want you to be as prepared as possible for your stay at University Hospital. Check this list of items to bring before you arrive, and be sure to leave your valuables at home.
When you arrive at the hospital, you’ll be asked to register. The registration process helps us record your visit to University Hospital and ensures you’ll receive the care and attention you deserve. You will be asked to provide information such as:
- Contact information
- Family or emergency contact
- Place of work
- Type of health insurance
Please be sure to bring a photo ID and your health insurance cards. We will ask you to sign a consent form giving us permission to provide you with care and support.
