As the first comprehensive pediatric concussion care program in South Texas, our experts can provide complete, coordinated care for children with concussions or traumatic brain injuries under one roof.
Who We See
We not only treat brain injuries or concussions related to sports, but our pediatric trauma team also cares for children who:
- Experienced a brain injury or concussion from falls, car or ATV crashes
- Were admitted to the hospital for more than 24 hours due to concussion symptoms
- Need specialized follow-up care after a traumatic brain injury
We also care for children who experience the following symptoms for more than a week:
- Headaches
- Dizziness
- Vision problems
- Balance issues
- Trouble sleeping
- Mood or concentration problems

- Comprehensive concussion evaluations
- Neurologic and cognitive testing
- Individualized, evidence-based care plans
- Return-to-Learn and Return-to-Play planning and coordination
- Ongoing symptom monitoring
- Care coordination with schools, coaches, pediatricians and primary care physicians
- Family education to help optimize recovery
Concussion Prevention
