While working a collision on Loop 410, San Antonio officer Jonathan Esquivel was struck by a distracted driver. The impact caused extensive injuries, including a broken neck, shattered pelvis, crushed ankle, ruptured bladder and some brain damage. Through years of hard work and recovery, he hopes to return to duty one day and possibly run a marathon.
