Flu Season Is Back
Getting an annual flu shot is a good idea for almost everyone, but COVID-19 has made protecting yourself from the flu even more important.
Getting COVID-19 and the Flu at the Same Time
It is possible to be infected with COVID-19 and the flu at the same time, so we should do everything we can to reduce our risk of getting sick.
Influenza and COVID-19 are both serious illnesses, and they share a number of common symptoms, including:
- Fever
- Cough
- Fatigue
- Chills
- Body aches
Getting your flu shot reduces your risk of catching the flu and can reduce the overall risk of flu illness in the community by 40%-60% in a given season, according to the CDC.
