I always knew that I wanted to work with children. My grandmother was a nurse, and my desire to help others and work with children came together as a pediatrician.
Philosophy of Care
As a pediatrician, I believe that each child is deserving of personalized, compassionate and evidence-based care. My primary goal is to partner with families to ensure that every child grows up happy, healthy and supported.
I view the family as an integral part of the child's health care team, and I strive to empower parents and guardians with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions. I am committed to building trustful relationships with both children and their caregivers by listening actively to concerns and by providing clear communication in a supportive and understanding environment.
Above all, I value kindness, respect and empathy in all my interactions.
Favorite Parts of Medicine
The thing I love most is that I have the opportunity to be a part of a child's life from infancy to adolescence. I enjoy each stage of growth and development. I take pride in building trusting relationships with families that allows me to be a resource to them. As a result, I am rewarded by being a small part of each child's journey.
I also love acting as an advocate for my patients; but more importantly, empowering/assisting parents and patients themselves to be their own advocates.
Areas of Clinical Interest
I have a passion for treatment of allergies (both environmental and food), as well as eczema. As a mother of a child with hearing loss, I have taken an interest in working with children with hearing loss as well.
