I received my Bachelor of Arts in biology at Texas A&M University in 1999. I then attended medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas from 1999-2003 and received my Doctor of Medicine. I continued my training at UNC Chapel Hill where I completed my obstetrics and gynecology residency in 2007.
I joined UT Health San Antonio and University Health in 2007 and was promoted to associate professor in 2014. I served as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists junior fellow section chair from 2008-2009.
I am the medical director for the Mommies program and the current co-director for the Long School of Medicine endocrine/female reproduction course for 4th year medical students. In 2016, I was appointed Chief of the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
