I was born in Weslaco, Texas, and was raised in a small town called Progreso Lakes, Texas, with a population of less than 250.

I am a pediatric cardiologist at University Health and an associate professor of pediatrics and director of Pediatric and Fetal Echocardiography Services at UT Health San Antonio. I am also the director of student and resident education for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and co-director of medical student education in Cardiology for the Long School of Medicine.

I graduated from the University of Notre Dame. I earned my medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, completed my residency at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center and my fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Hospital for Children. My clinical interests include improving current practice to provide excellence in pediatric cardiac imaging across all aspects of the field.
