I’m board-certified in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and in Pediatric Cardiology and General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. I’ve practiced medicine for over 20 years, with more than 15 years of experience specifically in cardiology.
Since 2014, I’ve been proud to call San Antonio home. In January 2025, I joined the University Health Adult Congenital Program — the only comprehensive care center for adult congenital patients in San Antonio. I completed my congenital cardiology fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and my residency at Florida State University.
My focus is patient centered care. I have dedicated myself to improving patient outcomes via education, awareness and help develop seamless transition of care for the complex congenital patients into adulthood. My research has also focused on fluid hemodynamics and postoperative outcomes in patients with complex single-ventricle hearts, and I’ve had the honor of presenting this work at national and international conferences.
Philosophy of Care
I’m dedicated to providing expert, compassionate cardiac care. I approach each patient as an individual whose needs deserve to be heard, understood and respected. I believe in treating every patient as if they were family, especially adults with congenital heart disease, who often face complex conditions that require specialized attention.
My goal is to ensure every patient feels informed, supported and empowered with a care plan tailored to their life.
Favorite Parts of Medicine
Over the years, I’ve developed a strong passion for supporting children with congenital heart defects as they grow into adulthood. I strive to improve care for this diverse and unique population through patient education, community awareness, and coordinated transition of care from adolescence to adulthood and through all the stages of their lives.
Clinical Interests
I enjoy all aspects of cardiac care, including inpatient and outpatient cardiology, with special interest in:
Adults with congenital heart disease
Cardio-obstetrics
Aortopathies and Inherited cardiomyopathies
Connective tissue disorders
Complex single ventricle patients
Complex right sided lesion (TOF, Ebsteins ..)
Non-invasive imaging.
Community Involvement
I regularly volunteer in and around San Antonio and serve patients in outreach clinics throughout the region.
Hobbies
My husband and I have two adorable children, ages 15 and 13. As a family, we love enjoying everything San Antonio has to offer — from tennis and baking to board games and football season.
We’re proud Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears fans, and we’ve recently developed a shared passion for traveling to historic landmarks.
