“A patient understanding and engaging in their disease process leads to the best possible outcomes.”
I’m an interventional and general cardiologist with University Health, dedicated to providing evidence-based, personalized care to patients facing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
My interest in medicine was inspired by my mother who was an exceptional registered nurse. My father also engendered into me the privelege to be of service to those in times of need. My passion was later reinforced through my hands-on experience in emergency medical services in Houston.
These early influences showed me the power of calm, competent care during moments of crisis and sparked my passion for cardiology — a field where timely intervention can be life-saving and life-changing.
Philosophy of Care
I believe in forming a true partnership with my patients, grounded in trust, education and open communication. My approach is centered on delivering comprehensive, up-to-date cardiovascular care while empowering patients to be active participants in managing their heart health.
Favorite Parts of Medicine
  • Educating patients about their heart health
  • Performing interventional procedures when medications alone aren’t enough
Clinical Interests
I specialize in interventional cardiology and general cardiology, with a focus on procedures that restore blood flow, relieve symptoms and reduce the risk of future cardiac events.
Awards & Recognition
Faculty of the Year, 2023 & 2024
Hobbies
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and being outdoors. You’ll often find me fishing, hunting or boating.
