- I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio for my undergraduate degree, and earned my degree in osteopathic medicine from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at The University of North Texas Health Science Center in 2018.
- I completed my pediatrics residency at Loma Linda Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA, in 2022.
- I have a passion for helping people, especially the underserved. Moreover, coming from a non-traditional background, I want to demonstrate what focus and hard work can accomplish, and be an example to others in similar situations.
- I have always enjoyed working with kids, so pediatrics is very natural for me. I grew up as the oldest child in a single-parent family and was tasked with looking after my younger siblings. It was a lot of responsibility, but I enjoyed caring for them. As an adult, I enjoy being a father, and it's been a privilege watching my kids grow up. Knowing that I can make a positive impact in a child's life is the most rewarding aspect of medicine for me.
- Providing reassurance to parents regarding their children is an important part of my job. Parenthood can be very daunting at times, and is an all-encompassing endeavor. Sometimes parents need not only guidance but also reassurance about their child's health and wellbeing.
- I enjoy working with underserved population. My mother is an immigrant from Honduras and I am a first generation college student. I can recall the barriers my family faced as I grew up. It is very rewarding for me to work with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- I am a San Antonio native and I am happy to be back home. I am married to my wonderful wife who has supported my journey through medicine. I am also a proud father to four children. We love to travel, snowboard and experience different cultures and try new delicious foods
