Viva Vida: a new era of health care on the South Side begins now

BACKGROUND: This Sunday will be the first chance for many South Side residents to see firsthand all the services available at University Health’s new Vida Clinic.
Located across from Texas A&M San Antonio, Vida services include:
- Urgent care 7 days a week
- Primary and specialty care, including behavioral health for adults and children
- Pharmacy, imaging and lab testing
Vida is also the new home for University Health’s Institute for Public Health and its innovative “Community Commons” which will bring many nonprofits together on-site to provide services and help address nonmedical drivers of health.
WHAT: Sunday’s free event includes:
- Food distribution from San Antonio Food Bank and River City Produce
- Flu shots
- Health Resources from many area nonprofits
- Art activities
- Refreshments
- Tours
