Trick and treat! Halloween fun for kids in the hospital

Annual Halloween Parade at University Hospital will be joined by SeaWorld’s costumed characters, Shamu and Coral

BACKGROUND: Superheroes, goblins and faerie queens will go trick-or-treating today in University Hospital’s annual Pediatric Parade. Current and former pediatric patients will dress in costumes and trick-or-treat through the hospital’s Sky Tower. Many of the children are here because of serious illness or injury, but on Tuesday they still will be able to enjoy the Halloween tradition. In addition to making our youngest patients well enough to go home, the Child Life team, which organizes the parade each year, tries to create some happy hospital memories.
