Even sick and injured kids should have some summer fun!

BACKGROUND: Summer camp is a much anticipated tradition for lots and lots of kids — unless they’re sick and in the hospital, of course. But young patients at University Hospital won’t miss out on ALL the fun. For them, our Child Life specialists have organized Camp Week, jam-packed with activities that recreate the fun of summer camp for those unable to leave the hospital because of illness or injury. University Hospital is the highest level trauma center for seriously injured kids throughout South Texas. Camp activities are taking place throughout the week, with themes and special events each day.
