Honoring those who died for our freedom

University Health System’s annual observance to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom will kick off Memorial Day Weekend at the Robert B. Green Campus downtown. The ceremony will include a keynote address, the laying of a wreath and the playing of taps.

WHO:

Master of Ceremonies: Ramon Gallegos, director of operations of the Medicine Clinic at the Robert B. Green Campus, U.S. Air Force veteran

Keynote Speaker: Ret. Air Force Lt. Gen. Dr. Thomas W. Travis, senior vice president for university programs (Southern Region), Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences; former Air Force surgeon general

WHAT: Remarks by current and former military, moment of silence, playing of taps and a wreath displayed at the flagpoles of the Robert B. Green Campus.

WHEN: 10 a.m. Friday, May 25

WHERE: Robert B. Green Campus, 903 W. Martin St. Ceremony will be outside the Historic Building by the flagpoles.
