A Sweet Ride for a Special Nurse
Principle Auto Group announces it will award a different luxury car every quarter for a year to a top nurse at University Health System
BACKGROUND: Excellent nursing is the backbone of healthcare. That is especially true at University Health System, which is the only healthcare system in South Texas to earn the prestigious Magnet designation — the highest recognition of nursing quality.
Principle Auto Group, a San Antonio-based network of auto dealerships in Texas and Tennessee, wanted to honor these hard-working health professionals. Each year, a nurse at University Health System will be presented a Nurse of the Year award to include a Principle Auto "Vehicle for all Four Seasons” — a new leased vehicle each quarter for a year.
“We know nurses share our mission in providing exceptional care,” said Abigail Kampmann, CEO of Principle Auto Group. “We are honored to partner with University Health System to recognize this elite group of Magnet nurses and are so thankful for the work they do day in and day out. By awarding a Principle Auto “Vehicle For All Four Seasons” we hope to make a nurse’s life a little better just like they make others’ lives better each and every day.”
Principle Auto chose University Health System’s nurses because of its Magnet designation from the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center. The Health System earned a renewal of the designation in September.
In order to receive Magnet designation, hospitals and health systems must show a proven track record for providing excellent care and positive outcomes. University Health System is the only health system in San Antonio and South Texas to earn Magnet status, and is among an elite group of healthcare institutions. Just 6 percent of the nation’s hospitals have earned this designation.
Principle Auto’s mission statement is, “we live to provide exceptional care.”
“Our nurses are committed to putting patients front and center,” said Nancy Ray, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive at University Health System. “We are thrilled that Principle Auto Group will be putting one of our terrific nurses front and center each year in a brand new car.”
The contest will kick off in 2016, and nominees (nominated by their peers) will be honored by Principle Auto at a gala celebration in 2017 that culminates in the announcement of the Nurse of the Year winner.
