2021 Top Workplaces Award

2021 Top Workplaces Award – San Antonio Express-NewsUniversity Health has been selected as a Top Workplace for 2021 through the San Antonio Express-News Top Workplaces survey.

The award is based solely on the feedback shared by University Health employees in the Top Workplaces survey last spring. More than 4,300 University Health team members responded.

“The University Health team has been exceptional in its care for the community, our patients, and each other,” said George B. Hernández Jr., president and chief executive officer. “We are more than co-workers. We are family. We have cared for each other throughout the pandemic, throughout the winter weather and hurricane challenges and through significant change.

“Our team implemented the Epic EMR, launched a successful telehealth program, and opened multiple clinics throughout Bexar County. I am proud of our team members, who serve our patients with compassion, educate and vaccinate our community, and innovate to meet new and unexpected challenges. The University Health team rises to each challenge, and cares for each other as an extended family.”

For more than 100 years, University Health has been here to heal, to improve health, to lead, innovate and advance the practice of medicine. Above all, the people of University Health are here to serve all who entrust us with their health and lives with the highest-quality care, respect and compassion.

As the only locally owned and operated health system in San Antonio and Bexar County, University Health takes to heart its responsibility to serve the health needs of our community today and into the future.

This is the 13th year that the San Antonio Express-News teamed up with Workplace Dynamics, an independent research firm, to recognize the best places to work in the San Antonio area. Winning employers are chosen through employee surveys on a variety of workplace topics. Survey results are verified by an independent organization.
