University Health offers Intermediate Fetal Monitoring and Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring CNE courses based on a curriculum from the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). This course uses a case study approach to support analysis of complicated patient clinical information and tracings. The course emphasizes the physiology of fetal-maternal oxygenation, instrumentation, interpretation of tracings and the selection of interventions as well as communication and documentation techniques. An optimal integration test is available.
Take if: You’re a perinatal clinician who has completed the AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Coursework, or a comparable fetal monitoring education program and/or who holds certifications or added credentials in fetal heart monitoring.
