Veterans Day Observance honoring those who have served country and community

In Military City, USA and at University Health the commitment to serving others is strong and inseparable. Many of the doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals caring for our patients have also defended our country as members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

On Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. we are celebrating their commitment to service during our annual Veterans Day observance. State Rep. Josey Garcia, who represents Texas House District 124, will be the keynote speaker.

Rep. Garcia is the first female veteran to serve in the Texas House of Representatives where she has made issues affecting veterans and military families a priority. She has sought support for survivors of military sexual trauma and raised awareness about the need for mental health resources for veterans.

As we head into this Veterans Day weekend, we welcome media to join us for this special recognition of veterans and their unwavering support for our country and community. Those attending should text Anita Martin, community relations director, when they arrive. Anita's mobile number is: 210-262-0284.
