About
Education
I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Medical Sciences & Technology (UMST) in Khartoum, Sudan, in 2015. I completed my internal medicine residency at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan, and completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Toledo Medical Center in 2022.
Philosophy of Care
I became a physician because medicine is a career where you can make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis. Seeing underserved communities getting the care they need, as well as helping patients who have been struggling with their health finally overcome those challenges, is rewarding.
Areas of Interests
I have a significant interest in technology and IT. I contributed to the development and improvement of order sets within our electronic medical records which has resulted in notable improvements to the daily workflow.
I’m also interested in diabetes technology and the recent advances in the field, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy swimming, outdoor activities such as hiking, and traveling.
