What Is Zika Virus?
Zika is a virus spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. You can also get Zika by having sex without a condom with someone infected by Zika.
There is no vaccination to prevent Zika and no specific medication to cure it.

Zika Effects
If you are pregnant and get the virus, you can pass it to your unborn baby. Zika infection during pregnancy can cause microcephaly and other disabilities. Microcephaly prevents your baby’s brain and head from growing correctly.
Depending on the severity of the microcephaly, it can cause developmental issues and other serious problems, including Guillain-Barre syndrome, a neurological disease.
