I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia in 2006, and received my medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2010. After medical school, I trained in Emergency Medicine at the Louisiana State University (LSU) New Orleans Spirit of Charity residency program, and became board certified in emergency medicine.
Following more than seven years in emergency medicine, I returned to LSU New Orleans and completed a fellowship in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine in 2022. I then joined University Medicine Associates at University Health to work in hyperbaric medicine and wound care medicine.
Philosophy of Care
I have always been interested in the sciences. Becoming a physician has allowed me to use the power of science to help others improve their health and quality of life.
I chose hyperbaric medicine and wound care for two reasons. First, it is very gratifying to form partnerships with patients and enable their chronic wounds to heal. Second, I enjoy the physics and physiology involved in hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
I’m inspired by my patients! I love educating patients on what they can do to impact their wound healing and see the results of their efforts.
Areas of Specialty & Clinical Interests
I’m interested in all aspects of undersea and hyperbaric medicine as well as advanced wound healing.
  • Hyperbaric medicine for all Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) clinical indications, including emergency treatments for carbon monoxide poisoning, necrotizing fasciitis, gas gangrene and central retinal artery occlusion
  • Diving medicine, including emergency treatments for decompression sickness
  • Wound care, including but not limited to:
    • Diabetic wound care
    • Skin substitute grafting
    • Selection and management of specialized dressings and compression
Hobbies & Interests
I enojoy getting outside and exploring the outdoors with my wife and two children.
